Meet Dan, a creative mind based in Naarm/Melbourne whose journey of self-discovery has manifested in his pursuit of community empowerment, particularly within the LGBTQAI+ and Asian Australian spheres. Through his independent zine, HOISZN, Dan blends artistry with advocacy, spotlighting predominantly Asian Australian artists and telling stories that resonate deeply within the community.

HOISZN is a quarterly zine that showcases the incredible talents of Asian Australian creatives and their vibrant, diverse cultures. Proudly produced independently in Naarm/Melbourne, each issue features stunning visuals, insightful discussions, and thought-provoking articles that celebrate the beauty and creativity of this extraordinary community. The zine also includes a gallery section dedicated to up-and-coming Asian Australian visionaries, providing a platform for emerging talent to share their unique perspectives with the world.

In addition to the publication, Dan runs the HOISZN Arts Hub, a Facebook group for Asian Australian creatives to connect, collaborate, and support each other. This vibrant community space allows members to stay updated on creative opportunities, discuss hot topics, showcase projects, seek advice, and share resources.

Being a cat lover himself, Dan invited Teef Club to collaborate on HOISZN’s third issue, The Cutest Issue, to give away free socks to the first 25 pre-orders. Teef Club proudly stocks The Cutest Issue in our collection and will continue to support HOISZN’s mission in supporting Asian Australian creatives.
